Caring for a treasured churchyard

Come and join our working parties to look after St John’s churchyard.

 

We are aware how treasured the churchyard is by so many people especially those who have relatives buried in this sacred place so during the spring and summer months we hold working parties to tidy and maintain the churchyard.

Following the ethos of the conservation charity ‘Caring for God’s Acre’ these working parities respect, as far as possible, the wildlife and flora and fauna that inhabit the site.

The working parties are open to everyone and last a couple of hours, usually on a Saturday afternoon. For exact dates check the calendar and what’s on this week on the home page.

We only have a limited number of tools and it is always helpful to have more so we do encourage people to bring their own on the day.

Any help to keep this beautiful area in good order and pleasing to everyone is much appreciated. We provide refreshments but remember there are no toilets on site!
