Windows into the Past

St Mark’s Church, Ampfield, and St John the Baptist, North Baddesley, are taking part in the Heritage Open Days which takes place from 6th – 15th September.

This is the first time any of our churches have been involved in this festival and we are excited to be able to welcome visitors to explore the rich history and culture that our sacred places offer.

During the dates there will be an exhibition in each church with the theme “Windows into the Past”.

Stained Glass windows offer a rich insight into our history and heritage. The exhibitions aim to tell the stories of those who lived over centuries ago, by looking into and through the many facets of art connected with the windows.

There is no charge for either of the exhibitions and both churches will be open most days from 10am – 3pm (for variations in timings see St Mark’s Heritage Open Days and St John’s Heritage Open Days).
