The Church of England has a good resource called “Your Church Christening” . It has answers to even more questions than we could think up so we encourage you to visit it.
"We believe that every child is a gift from God." With the arrival of a new baby it may be that you are interested in your child's spiritual, as well physical and emotional development. Read more to find out about the options for christening (baptism) or thanksgiving.
We are a group of Church of England congregations, in three villages Ampfield, Chilworth and North Baddesley; villages between Romsey, Winchester and Southampton. We work out of four church buildings, each of which has a distinctive history. Our buildings support not only our own work, but also that of partners who run important community work. Unusually we also maintain three burial grounds which are open for the interment of bodies or ashes.
We offer a genuine welcome to visitors, whatever their reasons for coming. These articles will help you choose a service which fits what you need. If you want to see all our events and services across all our churches go here
We are here for you in the highs and lows of life. Our ministers baptise, marry the hopeful, bury the dead and hold in prayer people in every kind of trouble in between. We have been holding each succeeding generation of the three villages since at least 1100. We are still here because God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Faith in Jesus isn’t something which most people acquire suddenly. There may indeed be some remarkable threshold experience: but it is usual for there to be a journey to that point. Equally a journey of growth in the knowledge and love of God follows until our life’s end. We support a variety of programmes specifically intended to strengthen faith.
Welcome to the section where we curate information about current festivals and occasional events, such as church fetes, scarecrow festivals, Christmas markets and so on.
These are the stories that matter to us as followers of Jesus in Ampfield, Chilworth and North Baddesley. We are concerned for social justice in our area, and what it means for us as residents to follow God in our neighbourhood. Equally we are passionate about justice and equity in all the lands and for the welfare of the whole created order.
